My Battle

Here's a small dive into the deeper parts of our minds expressed beautifully by a seasoned writer I know. On Most days, My mind is my worst enemy. I somehow don’t know where to look or whom to turn to for the right answers. Truth be told, there are none. It’s  been a long lost battle and I still don’t have the answers. It’s  been hard to decipher what I feel from what I know is the truth. This battle is not going to end soon and I know  There’s a lot to learn and a lot to figure out in the years to come.   But this is my mind. This is what lives in me  And this is what I know is the truth even if I may not have all the answers yet. -Kristen To find more of Kristen's work please click on the link below https://www.instagram.com/elizabeth_suares/?hl=en

Versopoiesis

This week I would like to share a snippet into the workings of the world of poetry, which has been described eloquently by a writer who can spin stories with just a few strokes of her pen. A tiny little flame births a regal forest fire, The remotest nooks of her mind now a grand pyre. Her very being set ablaze with an inspiration so great, She grabs a pencil before the sly flames can attenuate. Each word a drop; from her hand runs a river thence, Fills the parchment before her; a happy turbulence. Only water can quench fire, the stanzas doth flow. Untamed ripples dancing as her eyes begin to glow. Before she knows it, she’s the most unyielding General. Her army of sixteen before her merciless wrath grovel. Soldier out, soldier in; every line proportionate. This wordy patriot did it with rhyme and reason, yet. And now, at yet another christening she’s a Father. An air of certitude prevails, as she sprinkles holy water. Content with her myriad roles, she smiles exhau...

Midnight Promenade

The life of a young adult is a curious one. You can’t really tell when you’re behaving as an adult should or you’re just reverting back to the childhood ideals of what adulthood should feel like. In simple terms, it means that every 18-year-old roaming around the planet is doing something stupid during their first few years as a fully-fledged independent adult. Obviously, as they grow into themselves, they become more resilient, a little more patient and hopefully a bit wiser than when they started out. But when you think about it, those first few years as an adult making numerous stupid mistakes are the most memorable ones. Flings, partying, getting shit faced far too many times than the liver would like and agreeing to way too many crazy ideas that your friends throw at you when you should be studying for your term exams are all things that we regret once the deed is done. But you have to admit, all that crazy nonsense that you did during your college days will always bring a smil...

Love Yourself

This week I would like to introduce you to a writer who is an absolute gem and whose words are like chicken soup to the soul. Enjoy! What was your this year's resolution? Learn to cook, read more books, get a better job, be a pilot, not to gain weight, learn photography, or better yet be a good person? But have you ever had a goal of loving yourself? Let me guess maybe no, because we are our own critic…. We hate ourselves for our flaws, our mistakes, our fears, etc. So let's start on the journey to love yourself first. We all have that one friend in our life whom we love more than our self but have you ever considered being that friend for yourself? Not any other person but you? There are many people who come and go some stay for longer time, we get attached to the people who stay longer and we end up getting hurt. We always depend on others to support us. Yes, we do need people to be there for us, to believe in us, to fight for us and most of our close peopl...
